31-year-old Sasikumar was stabbed to death by two brothers over a dispute over his accidental footfall in a hotel in Bengaluru. Police are searching for the absconding accused.
Bengaluru: When someone accidentally stepped on someone’s foot while eating dosa in a hotel in the city, two brothers together stabbed the person to death. This heart-wrenching incident took place in Basaveshwar Nagar police station area. The killed person has been identified as 31-year-old Shashi Kumar, resident of Manjunath Nagar. Police said that the perpetrators of this murder were two brothers – Bhagyaraj and Manjunath. Both are currently absconding and the police is searching for them. This incident took place on Monday night near Guru Raghavendra Hotel in Basaveshwar Nagar.
Sasikumar worked in a private loan recovery organization and lived with his family in Manjunath Nagar. On Monday night he had gone to a hotel near his home to eat dosa. At the same time, accused Manjunath was also present in the hotel. While eating dosa, Shasikumar’s foot accidentally fell on Manjunath’s foot. An argument started between the two on this issue and the matter escalated quickly. Manjunath informed his brother Bhagyaraj about this quarrel and called him to the spot. Bhagyaraj reached the hotel with a knife (dagger) and as soon as he arrived he attacked Sasikumar. According to the police, Shasikumar was seriously injured in the attack and he died on the spot.
Shasikumar was the father of an 11 month old child.
Police said that the murdered Sasikumar had an 11-month-old child. His wife had gone to her maternal home to take care of the child after birth. For this reason Shasikumar had gone to the hotel to have dinner.
