Mansa Devi

It is said in the mythological stories that Mansa Devi is the Manas daughter of Mahadev, due to which she is called Mansa Devi. It is also heard that Vasuki Nag had wished for a sister from Mahadev, and Mahadev had given him Manasa Devi as his sister.

Goddess Jyoti is worshiped on various occasions in the temples of Tamil Nadu. According to the stories, Goddess Jyoti was born from the glory of Mahadev, while in other stories it is mentioned that Jyoti was born from the glory of Mother Parvati.

After this Mahishi started wreaking havoc. In such a situation, Shri Hari took the form of Mohini and Mahadev met her. Then Ayyappa was born, who ended Mahishi.
