Under the Fame Trip initiative of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, tour operators from across the country experienced the hotels and hospitality facilities of Ambikapur. This is being considered an important step towards giving a new identity to Surguja’s tourism potential, culture and natural beauty at the national level.
Surguja division of Chhattisgarh is known for its natural beauty, tribal culture and religious places. Now Chhattisgarh Tourism Board has started a new initiative to give this region a strong identity on the national tourism map. Before the Fame Trip, tour operators and travel agents from all over the country were introduced to the hospitality tradition and modern tourism facilities through a special hotel tour program organized in Ambikapur.
Modern facilities seen in hotels of Ambikapur
As part of the program, tour operators and travel agents from different states were welcomed in the traditional manner with Tilak and welcome drinks at Hotel Purple Orchid. After this they were given a detailed introduction to the hotel’s accommodation arrangements, dining facilities, banquet hall and other guest services.
In the afternoon all the guests also visited Hotel Makhan Vihar. After observing the modern facilities available here, cleanliness and arrangements made for the tourists, he appreciated the efforts of the hotel management. The objective of this visit was to show that Surguja is now ready for quality tourism facilities.
Detailed discussion on tourism possibilities
In the high-tea program organized after the hotel tour, the major tourist places of Surguja, natural beauty, religious and cultural heritage, tribal life and possibilities of tourism development were discussed in detail.
Tour operators and travel agents also shared their suggestions to promote tourism in the region. He believed that if better publicity and tourism packages are prepared, Surguja can become an attractive destination for travelers from India and abroad.

The delegates who came at the end of the program said that Surguja is a unique confluence of nature, culture and heritage, where there is immense potential for tourism. He expressed confidence that introductory programs like Fame Trip will attract more tourists to the region.
Chhattisgarh Tourism Board believes that such initiatives will not only give Surguja a new identity at the national level, but will also give a new impetus to the local hotel industry, employment opportunities and the regional economy.
