Bengaluru CCB seized drugs worth Rs 10 crore from a posh flat and arrested 2 people. 8,335 LSD strips and other narcotics were recovered from this racket running from Thailand. Police are investigating other members of the racket.
Bengaluru: They appear to be educated, with luxurious apartments, big money in hand, but even the CCB (Central Crime Branch) police were surprised to know their real work. CCB’s Narcotics Wing has seized a huge cache of drugs worth around Rs 10 crore by raiding a posh apartment in Bengaluru. This entire business was being run from a flat in ‘Prestige Fine Berry Park’ apartment in Bagalur of the city. On receiving concrete information, the police raided and arrested Ashwin (27) and Mobina (25), residents of Kerala. Both of them had made drug smuggling their profession and were living in a posh apartment to avoid any suspicion.
Drugs used to come in flights from Thailand!
Investigation has revealed connections to an international drug network. A person named Vincent sitting in Thailand is the mastermind of this entire racket. He used to send small quantities of drugs to Bengaluru through flights. At the behest of Vincent, Ashwin and Mobina used to receive the drugs and deliver them to the customers named by him.
Strips with pictures of Gods and Goddesses!
In this operation the police found a surprising thing. For the first time in the history of Karnataka, 8,335 LSD strips have been seized. The cost of one LSD strip is around Rs 6 thousand. To avoid any doubt, these strips had pictures of Gods and Goddesses and different types of paintings. Along with this, CCB has also seized 534 grams of charas and 5 kg of hydro ganja.
Flat owner in trouble? CCB’s close watch
At present, the two arrested accused are being interrogated to find out who else is involved in this racket. CCB officials are also investigating whether the owner of the flat from where this business was being run was aware of this or not.
