US-Israel-Iran war: US has virtually unlimited weapons supply; wars can be fought forever, says Trump

New Delhi: As the war in the Middle East assumed unprecedented proportions, US President Donald Trump on Tuesday pointed out that the United States possesses a “virtually unlimited supply” of such weapons, which are capable of sustaining prolonged wars. Acknowledging that high-grade weapons reserves are not yet at the desired levels, Trump said additional advanced weaponry is stored in allied nations.

What he said

Taking to Truth Social, Trump wrote: “Wars can be fought “forever,” and very successfully, using just these supplies (which are better than other countries finest arms!). At the highest end, we have a good supply, but are not where we want to be. Much additional high grade weaponry is stored for us in outlying countries.”

He added: “Sleepy Joe Biden spent all of his time, and our Country’s money, GIVING everything to P.T. Barnum (Zelenskyy!) of Ukraine – Hundreds of Billions of Dollars worth – And, while he gave so much of the super high end away (FREE!), he didn’t bother to replace it.”

The US President said: “Fortunately, I rebuilt the military in my first term, and continue to do so. The United States is stocked, and ready to WIN, BIG!!!”

As Iran continued to its strikes, American nationals across the Middle East were asked to leave immediately. The warning from the US government came in the wake of the US embassies in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait being pounded by drones.

‘To go far longer than that’

On Monday, Trump had said that the operations in Iran are likely to last for another four to five weeks, adding that he was prepared “to go far longer than that”.

Trump also spoke about his administration’s justification for going to war against Iran alongside Israel. He said that Iran posed “grave threats” to the US, claiming yet again that US attacks on Iran in June of last year resulted in “obliteration of Iran’s nuclear programme”.

Trump claimed that Iran’s ballistic missile programme was “growing rapidly and dramatically, and this posed a very clear, colossal threat to America and our forces stationed overseas”.

On Monday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio briefed the Congress members about ‘Operation Epic Fury’. He also quoted as saying that the “hardest hits are yet to come from the US military”.
