Correct method of frying is important

If Gujiya is fried properly then it remains fresh for a long time. Therefore always fry the Gujiya thoroughly on medium flame. Due to this it gets cooked well from inside. Because if Gujiya remains raw then there is a greater risk of spoilage. Apart from this, if the stuffing inside is undercooked then the Gujiya can spoil quickly. If there is moisture in the filling then the Gujiya will not last long.

let cool completely

Do not seal the fried Gujiya in a box immediately. First cool it completely at room temperature. If even a little heat or steam remains, moisture will form in the box. This moisture makes the Gujiya soft and spoilt. To store Gujiya, use an airtight container which is clean and completely dry. You can spread tissue paper or butter paper below. Steel or food-grade containers are better.

For how many days can Gujiya be stored?

If the weather is cool and dry, a simple Mawa Gujiya can easily last for 710 days. Properly fried dry Gujiya can last for up to 15 days. Keep in mind that the box is kept away from sunlight and moisture. At the same time, if you want to store it for months, you can keep it in the refrigerator. Keep it out for 15-20 minutes before eating.
If you have made a lot of Gujiya, you can also freeze it. For this, wrap the Gujiya in cling wrap or foil. Place in a zip lock bag or airtight box and store in the freezer.
