Apart from this, jaggery, whole turmeric, moong and batasha are also considered good for puja. The elders in the house always teach that a coconut and a sycamore garland made of cow dung should also be kept in the puja thali. Before starting the puja, clean the place where you want to perform the puja. So that the results of the puja become more pleasant and by choosing the right material, positivity remains in the atmosphere of the house.
Method of worship and importance of auspicious time
Pradosh Kaal i.e. the time after sunset is considered most auspicious for Holika worship. When you start worshiping on the evening of March 2, 2026, first sit facing east or north. First of all, meditate on Lord Ganesha and Mother Goddess so that the puja can be completed without any hindrance. After this, offer water on Holika and wrap the cotton thread around Holika three or seven times. Chanting simple mantras like ‘Om Holikaayi Namah’ and ‘Om Prahladaya Namah’ during worship is very beneficial. There is a possibility of reduction in results by performing puja at the wrong time, hence one should follow the time given as per Panchang. This work done as per law ensures the safety of the family.
