Schemes worth Rs 27,500 crore were approved in the first agriculture cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav in Barwani. This includes many big schemes related to irrigation, fisheries, animal husbandry, cooperation and agricultural development.

Bhopal. Under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the first agriculture cabinet of the year Farmer Welfare was organized on Monday at Bhilat Baba Devasthal, Nagalwadi in Barwani district. In this meeting, a total of schemes worth Rs 27,500 crore related to agriculture, irrigation, animal husbandry, fisheries, horticulture and cooperation were approved. Of these, schemes worth Rs 25,678 crore are directly in the interest of farmers and people involved in productive activities. The sanctioned amount will be spent over the next five years.

Narmada Control Board meeting: Approval of Rs 2,068 crore for 2 irrigation projects of Barwani.

A meeting of Narmada Control Board was also held with the Agriculture Cabinet. In this, administrative approval worth Rs 2,067.97 crore was given to two big irrigation projects of Barwani district.

Varla Micro Irrigation Lift Project

Under this scheme, 15,500 hectares of land in 33 villages of Varla tehsil will be irrigated by lifting 51.42 MCM water from Narmada river. The cost of the project is Rs 860.53 crore.

Pansemal Micro Irrigation Lift Project

In this project, 22,500 hectare land of 53 villages of Pansemal tehsil will be provided irrigation facility by lifting 74.65 MCM water from Narmada river. Its cost is Rs 1,207.44 crore. These projects will increase the groundwater level in areas with low rainfall and provide permanent irrigation facilities to farmers.

Madhya Pradesh Integrated Fisheries Industry Policy-2026 approved

The Council of Ministers approved Madhya Pradesh Integrated Fisheries Industry Policy-2026. Under this policy, there will be an investment of Rs 3,000 crore in the next three years and about 20,000 jobs (10,000 direct and 10,000 indirect) will be created. A budget provision of Rs 18 crore 50 lakh has been made for this policy. In this, about one lakh cages will be established by promoting cage culture in a modern form. Also, a multipurpose livelihood model will be developed by combining eco-tourism and green energy with fisheries.

Approval of Rs 610 crore for animal health and infrastructure development.

Rs 610 crore 51 lakh has been sanctioned for the health care of animals along with the development of veterinary hospitals and buildings in rural areas. This work will continue continuously from the year 2026 to 2031.

Approval of Rs 200 crore for Chief Minister Fishermen Prosperity Scheme

Rs 200 crore has been approved for continuation of the Chief Minister Machhua Samriddhi Yojana for the year 2026-27 and 2027-28. Under the scheme, fish seed promotion, training, interest subsidy and employment opportunities are provided.

Approval of Rs 1,150 crore for National Horticulture Mission

An amount of Rs 1,150 crore was approved to continue the National Horticulture Mission for the next five years. This will increase efficiency in the agricultural sector, strengthen production capacity and avoid duplication of schemes.

Micro Food Enterprises Upgradation Scheme: Rs 1,375 crore approved

Rs 1,375 crore approved for continuation of Micro Food Enterprises Upgradation Scheme from financial year 2026-27 to 2030-31. Upgradation of existing food processing units and setting up of new units will be done with the participation of Central and State Government.

Approval of Rs 1,739 crore for nursery garden development

An amount of Rs 1,739 crore has been approved for continuing the Nursery Garden Scheme till 2031 to provide high quality saplings and seeds at concessional rates.

20 projects for farmer welfare and agricultural development: Rs 3,502 crore approved

Rs 3,502 crore has been sanctioned for continuation of 20 projects costing less than Rs 500 crore till March 31, 2031.

Share capital support scheme of co-operative banks: Rs 1,975 crore

Approval of Rs 1,975 crore has been given to continue this scheme of the Cooperative Department till 31 March 2031. Crop loans will be provided to farmers through district banks.

Interest subsidy scheme on short-term crop loans: Rs 3,909 crore

Rs 3,909 crore has been approved to continue the scheme of providing short-term crop loans to farmers at zero percent interest up to Rs 3 lakh till March 31, 2031.

Rs 1,073 crore for operation of cooperative institutions

12 schemes to provide share capital, loans and grants to cooperative institutions have been approved to the tune of Rs 1,073 crore to be continued till 2031.

Rs 1,229 crore for other cooperative schemes

Rs 1,229 crore has been approved for operation and monitoring of various schemes of the Cooperative Department in the agriculture sector.

Livestock Development and Rashtriya Gokul Mission: 656 crores

Rs 656 crore has been sanctioned to continue the Sorted Sexed Semen Production Project under Rashtriya Gokul Mission till 2031. This will promote better breed of livestock.

Animal Health Protection Schemes: Rs 1,723 crore

An amount of Rs 1,723 crore has been approved to continue 14 schemes of animal health protection and animal promotion for the next five years.

11 schemes of animal husbandry and dairy sector: Rs 6,518 crore

Rs 6,518 crore has been sanctioned to continue 11 schemes like animal breeding, vaccination, poultry, sheep-goat development and disease eradication till 2031. Farmer Welfare This was the first agriculture cabinet of the year. Further decisions will be taken in the interest of farmers by organizing agriculture cabinets in different areas of the state. During the meeting, the members of the Council of Ministers also gave the message of respect and welfare of the tribal society by wearing traditional tribal costumes.
