‘If he had not been out, India would have been out of the T20 World Cup’, absurd statement of Pakistani cricketer. Mohammad Amir Questions Hetmyer Dismissal Says India Would Be Out Of World Cup

After India reached the semi-finals in the T20 World Cup, former Pakistan player Mohammad Amir has created a new controversy. He described Shimron Hetmyer’s wicket as suspicious and said that if Hetmyer had not been out, India would have been out of the World Cup.

Kolkata: As soon as India reached the semi-finals after defeating West Indies in the T20 World Cup, former Pakistan player Mohammad Amir has created a new controversy. Aamir’s strange argument is that Shimron Hetmyer’s dismissal in the match was suspicious and if he had not been out, India would have been out of the World Cup.

Mohammad Aamir gave controversial statement

Aamir made this controversial statement during a debate on a Pakistani TV channel. In the match, Hetmyer was batting stormily after scoring 27 runs on just 11 balls, when he was caught by Sanju Samson on the ball of Jasprit Bumrah. Aamir is not able to digest this thing. Bumrah’s ball took the edge of Hetmyer’s bat and went into Sanju’s gloves. The umpire gave out, but Hetmyer took the review. However, it was clearly visible in the ultra edge that the ball had hit the bat, so the third umpire also declared him out. But Aamir claims that Hetmyer was not out. He said, “Hetmyer’s wicket is doubtful. According to me, he was not out. If Hetmyer had stayed at the crease for a little longer, West Indies’ score would have reached 220-230 runs. If that had happened, India would have been out of the World Cup today.”

Aamir has also predicted that even though India has reached the semi-finals, it will be difficult to win the cup. He sarcastically said, “To be honest, India is not playing good cricket. He dropped three-four catches. I had already said that Hardik Pandya does not play well against big teams. Varun Chakravarthy also proved to be expensive. The teams that will come next play better spin than West Indies.”

Interestingly, even before the tournament started, Aamir had predicted that India would not reach the semi-finals. Indian fans are commenting on social media that perhaps Aamir is now saying such absurd things because his prediction was wrong. Fans trolled Aamir and said that he himself has become a laughing stock by raising doubts on the clearly visible out at ultra age.

India moved ahead by winning the match of ‘do or die’

In this T20 World Cup, Team India won all the matches of the group stage and made it to the top in the Super-8. But in the very first match of Super-8, it had to face defeat from South Africa. After this, the remaining two matches became like ‘do or die’ for India. India kept the semi-final hopes alive by defeating Zimbabwe and then played the last match against West Indies. West Indies had given a difficult target of 196 runs. Despite initial setbacks, thanks to Sanju Samson’s brilliant inning of 97 not out, Team India won by 5 wickets with 4 balls to spare.

Now India will face England in the semi-finals to be held at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. This is the third consecutive time that India and England will face each other in the semi-finals of a World Cup.
