Schemes meant to change mindset of people: Delhi CM Rekha Gupta
Speaking at the launch, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, “This is an attempt to touch three aspects of life: education, mobility, and domestic empowerment. I congratulate the daughters of Delhi…When the government investigated, we found that money meant for the Ladli-Ladli scheme for 1.75 lakh girls was lying in government accounts. So, in the first phase, we found 30,000 girls, and Rs 90 crore was given through DBT.”
The CM described the day and the schemes as historic. She also praised President Droupadi Murmu and said that her journey was an inspiration to women. She said that the President’s life story proves that there were no limits to dreams.
Gupta said that the schemes launched by the President were an attempt to change the mindset of people of the country. She also praised PM Modi for acknowledging that India can only become strong through women empowerment.
The CM said that the heart of all these schemes was the dignity of women. When PM Modi had launched the ‘Meri Punji, Mera Adikar’ scheme, he had told all states to return the people’s money, said CM Gupta. This scheme has been brought in to make daughters of Delhi ‘Lakhpatis’, she added.
The Delhi government aims for growth of all women, said the CM.
Gupta then went on to attack the previous AAP government of Delhi. She called them corrupt and said that the pink ticket scheme brought in by them had a lot of scope for corruption. She informed that her government had now brought in Pink Cards, which can also be used for travel in the Delhi Metro.
The government is also sending out money for gas cylinders which the women were supposed to get on Diwali and Holi, said CM Gupta.
