Five people, including the son of a former councilor, arrested in the rape case of a student in Bengaluru. According to the police, the accused used to lure girls on Instagram on the pretext of photoshoots and parties. The villa was booked for the incident by the councilor’s son.
Bengaluru: The police have so far arrested a total of five people, including the son of a leader, in the famous case of rape of a student in a villa in the city. This action has been taken by Amritahalli Police Station. Police officials said that Dickson Sandro (21) of West Bengal and Nikhil (34) of Sakleshpur were first arrested on the charges of raping a private college student. Based on the information received after interrogating him, three more people were arrested. They are accused of helping in this crime. Those arrested include Shravan (21) from Shivamogga, Anirudh (33) from Davangere and Mohit Jain (23) from Gujarat.
Former councilor’s son also arrested
Anirudh, one of the arrested accused, is the son of a former member of Davanagere Municipal Corporation. He is a contractor by profession and is a friend of the main accused Nikhil. According to the police, the villa where the rape took place was booked by Anirudh himself. The police had earlier sent him a notice for questioning. After questioning, Anirudh and two others were arrested for further investigation.
Everyone’s collusion exposed
The villa was booked in the name of Anirudh only. Not only this, the car in which the main accused Nikhil had gone to drop the victim near Lulu Mall on the day of the incident is said to be Mohit’s. Investigation revealed that Shravan and Mohit were also known to Nikhil and they also had a role in this rape case.
Many secrets are hidden in the missing iPhone
Police suspect that Nikhil’s iPhone may contain evidence of him trapping and deceiving many more girls in a similar manner. However, accused Nikhil says that his phone is lost. On the other hand, it has been revealed about Shravan that he used to organize rave parties, in which he used to invite many influential people. There were some allegations against him earlier also, but no victim had filed a complaint. It has also been revealed that the villa where the party took place belongs to a senior IPS officer.

These accused used to befriend girls through Instagram. Then they used to call her on the pretext of photoshoot, modeling and party. Initially, to win the trust of girls, they used to meet in pubs and cafes and pretend to be very polite. When the friendship deepened, he would take them to the villa on the pretext of a party. It has been revealed that Nikhil also helped other accused with money for such works.
