Falgun Purnima 2026 Remedies: Purnima Tithi is considered to be a very virtuous date in Sanatan Dharma. On the day of full moon, one attains inexhaustible virtue by doing spiritual activities like bathing, charity and worship. There are 12 full moon dates in a year, but the full moon of Phalgun month is considered very special. It is considered a symbol of devotion as well as celebration.

When is Phalgun Purnima 2026?
According to the Hindu calendar, the full moon date of Phalgun month is starting on 02 March 2026 i.e. tomorrow at 05:55 pm. This date will end on March 03 at 05:07 pm. In such a situation, according to Udayatithi, this year the full moon of Phalgun month will be celebrated on 03 March. The festival of Holika Dahan will also be celebrated on this day.
Remedies to be taken for ancestors on Phalgun Purnima
Light a four-sided lamp: According to the scriptures, the south direction is considered to be the direction of the ancestors. On the evening of Phalgun Purnima, light a four-faced lamp in the south corner of the house. Then recite Pitru Stotra. By doing this the ancestors are pleased and give blessings.
Donate and feed animals: Donation on full moon has great importance. Feed the hungry on this day. Feed bread or food especially to cows, dogs and crows. It is believed that the food given to living beings reaches the ancestors directly, thereby satisfying their souls.
Offer offerings to ancestors: On the day of Phalgun Purnima, after bathing, add black sesame seeds in water and offer it to the ancestors. By doing this one gets relief from Pitra Dosh.
