Who will get the benefit of free cylinder?
In UP, the benefit of free cylinder will be available only to those people who are already beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme. If you have not yet registered in this scheme, you have a chance to apply. But before that it is important to understand the eligibility. The main focus of Ujjwala scheme is poor and needy families. Especially those women who do not have gas connection in their name and the financial condition of the family is weak. - Families listed in SECC 2011
- Beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G)
- Ayushman Card Holder
- SC, ST and Most Backward Tribe families
Families falling in these categories are given priority in the scheme.
Which documents are necessary?
It is important to keep some important documents ready for application:
- income certificate
- Aadhar card
- ration card
- Address proof (electricity or water bill)
- passport size photo
- bank details
Keep in mind that your bank account should be linked to Aadhaar, because the subsidy amount comes directly into the account.

To apply online, first go to the official website of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Select your oil company there, like Bharat Gas or other options. After this select the option of ‘Ujjwala 2.0 New Connection’.

- Verify with OTP by entering mobile number
- Fill in family information, bank details and address
- submit form
After completion of the application you will get a reference number. With this number, further process can be completed by visiting the nearest gas agency.
