Javed Akhtar says ‘Trump and Israel have over played’ amid global political crisis

Mumbai: Javed Akhtar took to social media to address the recent attacks on Iran by the USA and Israel and the ripple effects it has caused globally. In his post, the screenwriter referred to the two countries as “bullies”.

“I think this time Trump and Israel have over played there hand because if they are allowed to get away with this audacity and do an Iraq to Iran, China will lose its total credibility in the world. Netanyahu and Trump, like all the bullies have pushed others to the wall and ultimately left no choice to others but to react in a decisive manner (sic),” wrote Javed on X.

The Indian screenwriter’s post garnered the attention of many. Some explained their political thoughts, others opined that humanity was not a concern for any of the powerful countries.

“China already ahead of the game. All they care about is to lift their own people. Their dependency on oil for energy is already way too low. They are going to the sun, while they are on drill baby drill,” said one.

Another wrote, “How long can the world depend on China alone to counter the US axis? Indian situation is specifically precarious as China old enemy, and the US new because of Trump’s allegations and threats against Modi and resultant tariffs(sic).”

A third individual commented, “Trump’s reckless audacity has pushed the world to the edge, and Netanyahu just followed his lead. The devastation we’re seeing? He’s the one solely responsible. History will remember him as the spark behind this chaos.”

“This is all being done to clean the balance sheets of the weapons lobby. It’s all a show. There was no need for a war. But they had to. Trump would be killed otherwise. This is a cycle. Happens every few decades. It’s all about money..nobody cares about humanity,” said another netizen.
