SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Utah Jazz 115-105 on Saturday night, marking their fourth consecutive win.
The victory came after Pelicans star Zion Williamson left the game early due to a right ankle injury.
Williamson exited the game in the second quarter and did not return, contributing four points, two assists, and one rebound in 11 minutes of play. The severity of his injury remains unclear at this time.
Saddiq Bey’s Performance
Saddiq Bey led the Pelicans with 24 points, following a remarkable 42-point game earlier in the week. He shot 7 for 16 from the field and made 3 of 8 attempts from three-point range, in addition to going 7 for 10 from the free-throw line.
Team Contributions
Jeremiah Fears and Bryce McGowens each added 18 points, while Herbert Jones contributed 17 points, 10 of which were scored in the first half. Jordan Poole also played a role in the victory, scoring 11 points. Fears further enhanced the team’s performance with 11 rebounds and five assists.
Jazz Struggles
Isaiah Collier was the standout player for the Jazz, scoring 21 points as the team suffered its fifth consecutive loss. Keyonte George returned to the lineup after missing 10 games due to ankle sprains and added 17 points. Other contributors included Elijah Harkless with 14 points, Ace Bailey with 13, Kyle Filipowski with 12, and Brice Sensabaugh with 10.

The Pelicans established a commanding lead with a 15-0 run to close the second quarter, entering halftime with a 65-40 advantage. New Orleans shot 50% from the field in the first half, while the Jazz struggled at 27%.
In the second half, Utah managed to reduce the deficit to 16 points by the end of the third quarter and began the fourth quarter with a nine-point run, bringing the score within seven. However, New Orleans quickly responded with an 8-0 run, ensuring they maintained control of the game.

The Pelicans played without Trey Murphy III, who missed his fifth consecutive game due to a right shoulder injury. Additionally, Dejounte Murray and Yves Missi were unavailable for the game.
