Following the victory, BCCI released a video of Shubman Gill delivering an inspiring speech inside Team India’s dressing room. Speaking in front of other members of the team, he said, “We have worked very hard to be in this position. Over the past six to eight months, i know how hard it was to be able to get a test win, especially to do it here where we haven’t won a test match ever.”

Shubman Gill & Team India tumble records with a record-breaking innings
At 25, Gill became the fourth-youngest Indian captain to win a Test match. He broke Virat Kohli’s record (293) for most runs by an Indian captain in a Test, scoring 430 runs. He also surpassed Sunil Gavaskar’s record (344) for the highest match aggregate by an Indian in a Test.
