From Bollywood stars to TV celebrities, scores of celebrities have rallied in support of activist Sonam Wangchuk and urged him to end his hunger strike at Jantar Mantar, Delhi. Amid growing concern over his deteriorating health due to indefinite fasting, popular television actress Shweta Tiwari has also shared a post. In an Instagram Story, the Kasautii Zindagii Kay star expressed her support for the students’ protest but clarified that she disagrees with the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). She openly stated that she does not support their approach but believes that Wangchuk’s cause is genuine. Tiwari added that her support is for Sonam Wangchuk and his cause, not for any political group or organisation.

She added, “At the same time, I have absolutely no inclination towards CJP. I disagree with the way they are handling this and feel they are using his struggle to push their own agenda. I don’t support that approach.”
Shweta added that her support was only for and the cause he was fighting for, not for any political group or organisation seeking to “benefit from it.” She further wrote, “Whatever our political differences may be, we cannot afford to lose a man who has dedicated his life to the country and to education. TV Stars On Sonam Wangchuk Hunger Strike
Several other television personalities and reality show stars, including Farrhana Bhatt and Munawar Faruqui, have extended their support to amid his ongoing hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. Concerned about his declining health, they have appealed to the activist to end his fast and focus on his recovery.
For those unversed, Wangchuk is currently on the 19th day of his indefinite hunger strike in New Delhi. According to reports, the activist has lost around 8.9 kg, with his weight dropping to 57.15 kg. His blood pressure and blood sugar levels are being monitored regularly by medical professionals.
Despite his deteriorating health and a legal plea seeking approval for force-feeding, Wangchuk has maintained that he will continue his protest.
