Ingredients of Papad
You need 1 kg urad dal flour, 30 grams papad khar (it makes papads crunchy), salt 30 grams, black pepper powder 20 grams, asafoetida about 10 grams, oil as required for making or rolling the papads.
How to make papad base?
You have to take urad dal flour in a big vessel. In this you have to mix all the things like papad khar, black pepper powder, asafoetida, salt. Prepare papad base by adding water to it. All you have to do is knead it into a tight dough. After this, cover the prepared dough with a cotton or muslin cloth and keep it comfortably for at least a few hours. This improves the texture and the papads do not tear.

- When the dough sets well, you have to knead it again for some time. This makes it even smoother.
- Now grease your hands with some oil and make small balls from the dough and keep them covered in a vessel.
- It is better if two to three people work together to make papad, because making papad is a time-consuming task.
- Roll out all the balls one by one with a rolling pin or flatten them by applying pressure on them with some flat object. In this way your papad will be ready.
- After rolling, keep all the papads separately. For this you can take any clean cloth or sheet. Dry all the papads in the sun or in the air.
Store it this way
When the moisture of the papad dries completely, you can store it in an airtight container and fry it when needed and enjoy. Many tasty snacks can also be made from urad dal papad. For example, roast it lightly and immediately fold it a little. It becomes hard after cooling. Stuff it by mixing finely chopped cucumber, tomato, green chilli, onion, green coriander and lemon juice. Your tacos are ready.
