PM Kisan: The eyes of more than nine crore food donors of the country have once again turned towards the government. Last time the amount of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi reached the bank accounts of farmers on 19 November 2025. From then till today, farmers are waiting for the next financial help. The month of February is about to end, but the money for the 22nd installment has not been received yet.
When can we get good news?
Today is 28th February and also the last day of the month. Many farmers were hopeful that they might get this relief amount today. But today is the fourth Saturday of the month. Due to this, all the banks across the country are closed. The money of PM Kisan Yojana is sent directly to the accounts of farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer i.e. DBT.
Since the banking system is on holiday today, there is little chance of getting money into the accounts today. The process of transfer of such a huge amount is generally not followed at the government level on holidays. In such a situation, there is no possibility of credit of Rs 2,000 each of the 22nd installment in the bank accounts of the farmers on Saturday.
What is the expectation of the installment coming before Holi?
After today’s disappointment, the next question that arises is whether the farmers will be able to get this money before the festival of Holi. If we look at the calendar of the coming days, the situation starts becoming clear. Since March 1st will be Sunday, there will be a holiday in banks again. Immediately after this, banks are going to remain closed in Uttar Pradesh on March 2.
Banking operations will remain halted in many other states of the country on March 3 also. After this, there is a big festival of Holi on March 4, which is a public holiday across the country. Looking at these continuously falling bank holidays, it is clear that there are very little chances of farmers getting this financial help before Holi.
Concern is increasing due to government’s silence
Frequent holidays are not the only reason for this. The biggest thing is that no official date has been announced yet by the Central Government for the release of the 22nd installment. Without any prior notice and with the banking system constantly on holidays, the hope of receiving this money before Holi is almost gone.
