Producer Vipul Shah furious over ‘Should Rehman dacoit be shown as Hindu’ controversy over ‘The Kerala Story 2’. The Kerala Story 2 Producer Vipul Shah On Anurag Kashyap Boycott Statement Kerala High Court Release Controversy

There was drama after the Kerala High Court stayed the release of The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond, but the stay was lifted on appeal. Producer Vipul Shah responded to Anurag Kashyap in the press conference and denied the allegations of targeting religion.

There was a big drama regarding the release of The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond. After the order of Kerala High Court, the release of the film was postponed for almost two weeks, but on the appeal of the makers, the stay was lifted and the film was released on the evening of 27th February. Meanwhile, producer Vipul Shah openly expressed his views in the press conference. He launched a scathing attack on Anurag Kashyap’s criticisms and clarified the allegations of targeting a particular religion. Also gave blunt reaction on questions like ‘Bollywood mafia’.

Vipul Shah’s sharp reply to Anurag Kashyap

Vipul Shah said in the press conference, “Anurag ji made a film like That Girl In Yellow Boots (2011), which showed the immoral relationship between a daughter and a father. When a director makes a film on the physical relationship between a daughter and a father, should we take his point of view seriously? This question was raised by our director Kamakhya Narayan Singh.” He further said, “I was hoping that Anurag would react to this. Maybe in a few days he will respond. I personally don’t like to comment on anyone’s views.”

Was any particular religion targeted in ‘The Kerala Story 2’?

When Vipul Shah was told that his film targets a particular religion, he said, “First of all, we have not targeted any religion or community, neither in The Kerala Story (2023) nor in The Kerala Story 2. What do I do if the culprit is from a particular religion? Do I show Rehman the dacoit as a Hindu? If the culprit in the film is from a community, I have to show the truth. I am honest about the film and the pain of the victims. Will stay.”

Vipul Shah also spoke on ‘Bollywood Mafia’ and awards

Vipul Shah says, “I guarantee that my film will be ignored at Filmfare and other commercial awards. But hopefully the National Awards will look at our work, and we will be proud if they honor us.” When a journalist mentioned ‘Bollywood Mafia’, he clearly said, “There is no mafia in Bollywood. My industry is very good, there are amazing people here. The industry is not against me or my film.”
