Why did Qatar and Türkiye’s peace efforts fail?
Qatar and Turkey had taken the initiative to intervene. The objective was that both the countries should come to the negotiation table and the tension should be reduced. But the talks could not proceed further due to lack of mutual trust and allegations of militant activities. The biggest issue is that Pakistan wants a guarantee of complete ban on any terrorist activity against it from Afghan soil, whereas Kabul says that Pakistan’s security problems are its internal matter.
