Police informed that Dhanush and his brother Surya had called the girl’s brother Tejas and threatened that they would “teach Amrita a lesson for playing with her life.” According to the police, the name of the deceased girl was Amrita and she was a resident of Jeevan Bima Nagar. This attack took place on 13 July. Accused Surya had reached Amrita’s house at the behest of his brother Dhanush.

Argued with mother and stabbed girlfriend

Police said that after arguing with Amrita’s mother, Surya suddenly took out a knife and attacked Amrita. Neighbors immediately took him to the hospital. The people present at the spot caught Surya and handed him over to the police. Police said Amrita died during treatment on Wednesday evening, July 15.

Love story started 3 years ago

Based on preliminary investigation, police said that Amrita’s family and Dhanush’s family living in Wilson Garden knew each other. Both the families met three years ago at a religious function, after which Amrita and Dhanush became friends. Later their friendship turned into a relationship. Amrita ended this relationship in March this year, after which a dispute started between the two families.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, Bengaluru Police on Wednesday arrested a sub-inspector on charges of domestic violence and dowry harassment. He has been identified as PSI Bairappa. It is alleged that the officer used to continuously harass his wife and during a fight with her family members, he also brandished a sharp weapon.
