New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal has got a big legal relief from Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. The court has acquitted 23 accused including Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia in the liquor scam case. Among those acquitted was former MP and KCR’s daughter K. The name of the poem is also included. However, CBI has challenged this decision of the lower court in the High Court.

What did the court say in the 549 page decision?

The court clearly said in its 549-page decision that no concrete evidence was found of any irregularities in making the new liquor policy. The court also admitted that many allegations could not be proved during the investigation. The court also directed to take departmental action against the investigating officer of CBI. Arvind Kejriwal became emotional after the decision and said, Kejriwal is staunchly honest.

AAP’s number 2 leader Manish Sisodia was arrested in February 2023. He remained in jail for 510 days i.e. about 17 months.

3- Arvind Kejriwal: 177 days jail

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by ED in March 2024. He remained in jail for about 6 months, i.e. 177 days. This does not include the time of interim bail granted for election campaign.

4- Sanjay Singh: 181 days jail

Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh remained in jail for about 6 months i.e. 181 days. Later he got bail from the Supreme Court.

5- K. Poem: 150 days jail

BRS leader and former MP K. Kavita remained in jail for about 5 months i.e. 150 days in this case. Later he also got bail.
