Chief Minister Yogi has directed that salaries and honorarium should be released to all government employees of the state before the festival. It is said that about 17 lakh employees will get direct benefits from this decision. These also include regular employees, outsourcing staff, contract workers and cleaning workers.

Why are instructions to pay salaries on time important?

Before a big festival like Holi, the biggest concern for employees is expenses. Money is needed for shopping in the market, home preparations and celebrating festivals with family. The CM has given clear instructions to the officials that there should not be any delay at any level. Holi holiday from 2 to 4 March

The government has declared holiday on 2, 3 and 4 March on the occasion of Holi.

  • March 2: Holika Dahan
  • March 3: Possible holiday (as per government decision)
  • March 4: Colorful Holi

Since March 1 is a Sunday, employees can get four consecutive days off. However, February 28 (Saturday) has been declared a working day and government offices will remain open. This long weekend can be special for employees and their families, especially those who are working away from home.

Important updates regarding banking services

Banks will also remain closed on 2, 3 and 4 March during Holi. In such a situation, people have been advised to complete important banking work in advance. However, digital and online banking services will continue. That means UPI, net banking and ATM services will continue to operate normally.

What will be the situation in schools?

According to the official calendar of the government, there will be a holiday in schools on March 2, 3 and 4. Since March 1 is a Sunday, children can also get four consecutive days of leave. This will give families a chance to celebrate the festival together and people planning to go out can also make preparations in advance.
