The Supreme Court took a strict stand on the controversial portion of the 8th class books. While hearing this matter on Thursday, NCERT has banned that eighth class book. This part of the book dealt with corruption in the judiciary. The matter was heard by a bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice Vipul Pancholi. The court clearly said that merely apologizing is not enough in this case. It would be wrong to allow such books to reach children. It is important that the dignity of the judiciary be maintained. Notice was also issued to the Education Secretary and NCERT in the matter. The court clearly said that the hearing will continue until the Supreme Court is satisfied.
