Ashwin month 2025 festival list: Every month has its own different and special significance in Hinduism. In the year 2025, the seventh month of Hinduism, Ashwin month is starting today i.e. September 8, Monday. This month will run from 8 September to 7 October. It will end on the day of Sharad Purnima in October and the month of Kartik will begin. Ashwin month is considered special for the worship of fathers and mother Durga.

Ancestral– Pitrupaksha starts from this day. During this time, fathers are fed and pay tribute. During the Pitru Paksha, Shraddha, Tarpan is performed methodically. In the year 2025, the first Shraddha at Pitrupaksha will be kept on 8 September and will run till 21 September.
Jeevanputrika Vrat-On the Krishna Paksha Ashtami Tithi of Ashwin month, Jeevan Putrika fast is observed. In the year 2025, this fast will be observed on 14 September 2025.
Indira Ekadashi –The Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month is known as Indira Ekadashi. By observing this fast, the ancestors get freedom and salvation from the tragedy of Yamlok. Indira Ekadashi is on September 17, Wednesday, 2025.
Sarvapitri Amavasya –This is the most important and last day of Pitru Paksha. It is falling on 21 September in the year 2025. On this day, if you are unable to perform Shraddha during the entire Pitru Paksha, you can do this day.
Sharadiya Navratri –Sharadiya Navratri, which falls in Ashwin month, starts from 22 September. Maa Durga is worshiped during this period.
Saraswati Awahana –The first day of the four -day Saraswati Puja performed at the time of Navratri worship is called Saraswati Awahana. Saraswati will be called on 29 September in the year 2025.
Durga Ashtami –Shukla Paksha Ashtami of Ashwin month is celebrated as Durga Ashtami. In the year 2025, Durga Ashtami will fall on 30 September.
Maha Navami –Mahanavami is the concluding day of the nine -day Durga Puja festival. Mahanavami in the year 2025 is on 1 October, Wednesday.
Dussehra –The festival of victory of good over evil is celebrated as the victory of religion over Vijayadashami unrighteousness. In the year 2025, Vijayadashami is on 2 October.
Papankusha Ekadashi –Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month is known as Papankusha Ekadashi. It is on 3 October in the year 2025.
