Amit Shah performed Mangala Aarti before Rath Yatra
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [भारत]July 16 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday participated in Mangala Aarti at the famous Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad on the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Beej and 149th Rath Yatra and offered prayers with full devotion. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi also participated on this occasion.
Many devotees across the country have unwavering faith in Lord Jagannath. Every year, on the holy day of Ashadhi Beej, Lord Jagannath along with his sister Subhadraji and brother Balabhadraji sets out on a city tour to bless the devotees with his divine darshan.
Before the Rath Yatra, Home Minister Shah performed Mangala Aarti with his family and worshiped Lord Jagannath. On this sacred occasion of Rath Yatra, which is a symbol of faith not only for the city of Ahmedabad but for the entire state of Gujarat, Mahant Dilipdasji of Ahmedabad Jagannath Temple was present along with saints, Mahants and a large number of devotees.
President Murmu also gave best wishes
Meanwhile, President Draupadi Murmu greeted devotees across India and the world on the auspicious occasion of Mahaprabhu Jagannath Rath Yatra and said this soulful occasion of union of devotee and God is “truly unique”.
In a post on Twitter ahead of the annual Jagannath Rath Yatra starting today, President Murmu highlighted the spiritual, cultural and unifying significance of the festival and prayed for the continued happiness and prosperity of the country and its people. The official X handle of the President of India read, “On the auspicious occasion of Mahaprabhu’s Rath Yatra, I extend my warm greetings to all the devotees of Shri Jagannath in the country and abroad. It is a widely recognized place that during the glorious tradition of this sacred procession, Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath, accompanied by Chakraraja Sudarshan, elder brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra, comes out to meet the devotees.
