Rules of worship of Amalaki Ekadashi: According to the Panchang, in the year 2026, the fast of Amalaki Ekadashi will be observed on 27th February, Friday. Celebrated on Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Phalgun month, this date is considered dedicated to Lord Vishnu. There is a religious belief that by fasting and worshiping as per the rituals on this day, one gets the special blessings of Shri Hari and the troubles of life are removed. Amla tree is said to have special significance on the day of Amalaki Ekadashi. It is believed that Lord Vishnu resides in the Amla tree, hence Amla is also worshiped on this day. But on this auspicious day, there are some things which can reduce the virtue of fasting. Let us know which are those 5 tasks which should not be done even by mistake.
do not eat rice
According to the scriptures, eating rice on the day of Ekadashi is considered prohibited. According to mythological beliefs, a person who eats rice on this day is born in the womb of a reptile in the next life. Therefore, whether you are fasting or not, avoid rice on the day of Ekadashi.
Do not harm the gooseberry tree
Since it is Amalaki Ekadashi, the Amla tree has the most importance on this day. On this day, do not break the branch of the Amla tree or harm it even by mistake. Doing this can anger Lord Vishnu.
stay away from spicy food
Ekadashi is a very sacred date. Tamasic food like meat, alcohol, onion and garlic should not be consumed at all on this day. Keep your mind calm and adopt virtuous thoughts.
Do not speak ill or be angry with anyone
The fruits of fasting are achieved only when the mind is pure. Do not get angry at anyone on the day of Ekadashi, nor gossip or speak ill of anyone. Stay away from debates and spend your time in bhajan-kirtan or remembering God.
Do not pluck basil leaves
Lord Vishnu is very fond of Tulsi, but plucking Tulsi leaves on the day of Ekadashi is considered taboo. If you want basil for puja, pluck it a day in advance or use the leaves fallen on the ground.
Importance of Amalaki Ekadashi
