“No one is my fan at my home. As I was leaving home today, I told my wife I was heading for a trailer launch. She asked, ‘Which film?’ She has no idea what’s happening in my professional life — and that’s the kind of family I come from. They treat me exactly the same. Sometimes I even ask for ₹10,000–15,000 in cash before heading to a shoot,” said the actor.
Speaking of his children, the actor said that they are “idealistic and independent”. He added, “No one at home treats me like a star.”
Further, he added that his wife does not even know what is happening in his professional life. “My wife doesn’t even know what’s happening in my professional life. If I tell her my trailer is launching, she’ll ask, ‘Which film?’ That’s the kind of family I have. Completely grounded,” said the actor.
Anil also addressed Suresh Triveni, refusing daughter Rhea’s film. Dismissing the controversy, the actor stated, “That’s not the case at all. I never called Suresh. You can ask him. I told Rhea, if he says yes, great, if he says no, that’s your problem, not mine.”
He added, “As for Suresh ji and Rhea, I feel such a thing shouldn’t happen again. Just forgive and forget. I am of the belief that in our profession, if a person should vent their anger, it should be in your work. What’s the point of venting anger at people? If someone has betrayed you, someone has hurt you, you have this or that problem, then do one thing – just work!”
Anil also said that he has a good relationship with the people he has worked with. I share a wonderful relationship with everyone I’ve worked with. Right from Subhash Ghai to Vinod Chopra. Just yesterday, I spoke to N. Chandra. I called Indra Kumar and told him you haven’t even cast me in the movie. There’s no bitterness, only friendship.”
Subedaar is all set to release on March 5, 2025.
