A case of selling fruits by applying rat poison on them has come to light in Malad, Mumbai. After the complaint, the police detained two accused and sealed the shop. A case has been registered under sections of the Indian Justice Code 2023 and investigation is ongoing.
A surprising incident related to the sale of fruits has come to light in Malad, a sub-urban area of Mumbai. It is alleged that some fruit sellers were applying rat poison on the fruits and selling them in the market. If people ate these fruits, their health could be seriously harmed.
Case opened after complaint, video became evidence
The matter came to light when local resident Kunal Salunke lodged a written complaint with the police. The complaint said that two fruit sellers were applying poisonous substance on the fruits in the name of protecting them from rats. It was told that this entire incident was recorded on camera. This video was handed over to the police as evidence, after which the matter became serious.

Malad Police Station action
As soon as the complaint was received, the team of Malad Police Station immediately reached the spot and started investigation. During preliminary interrogation, the accused admitted that they used to apply rat poison on the fruits to protect them from rats. Police officials said that such action is completely illegal. Besides, it is also very dangerous for the health of common people. Eating fruits laced with poisonous substances can worsen one’s health or cause serious health problems. Even life can be lost.
Two accused arrested, shop sealed
In this case, the police have detained Manoj Kumar Kesarwani and Bipin Kesarwani. A case has been registered against both of them under sections 125, 274, 275 and 286 of the Indian Justice Code 2023. Police have sealed the shop of the accused and further investigation is underway. The officials have clearly said that such carelessness with food items will not be tolerated at all. If more facts come to light during the investigation, the concerned departments will also be informed for action.
