For the incident, where Dogra is being seen as the culprit, the BCCI is set to fine him 50 per cent of his match fees for getting into a physical altercation with the Karnataka player.
What happened on Day 2 of Ranji final?
Meanwhile, the incident took place in the 101st over of the innings when Dogra smashed a boundary off Prasidh Krishna. Aneesh, who was placed at the silly point region, said a few words to the J&K skipper and in response, Dogra came charging towards him with a headbutt. Senior Karnataka player Mayank Agarwal came to the defence of his teammate which led to some heated words between the two senior players.
The on-field umpires joined in soon and diffused the situation. At last Dogra also apologised to Aneesh. Speaking about the incident at the end of day’s play, Dogra said that: ‘It’s not a big deal, it happened in the heat of the moment. A bit of these exchanges keep going on, especially when you’re playing the final. We defused the situation right there. After that he started chatting again.’
Meanwhile at day end, Jammu and Kashmir were solidly placed at 527 for 6 with Sahil Lotra (57*) and Abid Mushtaq (20*) at the crease for the side with the partnership between the duo being 56 runs.
