Actor Mihir Ahuja feels the most difficult part of acting isn’t delivering heavy dialogues, it’s performing when there are none.
In a chat with IANS, Mihir said that while actors often focus heavily on memorising lines, the real craft shows up in the quieter moments.
Silent moments are the real challenge
He shared that silence, when done right, can say far more than words. “In acting, silence speaks louder than words. When we are preparing for a scene or a script, most of the time, we spend time on the dialogues. But everything is written in the dialogues.”
He also added, “In acting, there’s a word called subtext. There’s a line, but what’s behind it? What’s inside the line? What’s going on behind it? There’s a subtext. When there’s no text, creating a subtext is the most powerful thing. When it’s conveyed, there’s nothing more beautiful than that,” he said.
About the show
Mihir was speaking about Shabad-Reet aur Riwaaz, which explores faith, family bonds and emotional conflicts.
During the conversation, Mihir and co-actor Suvinder Vicky also spoke about the warm atmosphere on set and how the story leans heavily on unspoken emotions rather than loud drama.
According to them, that emotional honesty is what makes the narrative feel relatable.
A young boy caught between two worlds
In the series, Mihir plays Ghuppi Singh, a 16-year-old who struggles with a chronic stammer while trying to figure out his own path.
His father, Harminder Singh, is a respected Ragi singer and hopes his son will carry forward the family’s devotional music legacy. But Ghuppi’s heart is somewhere else, he dreams of playing football.
The show follows this emotional tug-of-war between duty and desire, something many young people may find familiar.
Growing body of work
Mihir Ahuja has quietly been building a solid filmography. He has previously appeared in Super 30, The Archies and the web series Mission Over Mars.
With each role, the actor seems increasingly drawn to characters that rely more on emotional depth than just dialogue-heavy moments.
