Noida’s Jewar airport secures Rs 4,458 crore investment during Adityanath’s Singapore visit

New Delhi: The upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar secured an investment of Rs 4,458 crore during Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Singapore, taking the total investment linked to the airport to Rs 8,000 crore.

The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with AISATS to invest in two major aviation service projects at Jewar airport and also with Singapore Cooperation Enterprise to strengthen institutional capacity, policy frameworks, and ecosystem development in the state.

The development comes ahead of the much-awaited inauguration of the Jewar airport by Prime Minister Narendra Modi next month.

Under the MoU, an advanced cargo campus and a world-class air catering kitchen will be developed by AISATS  at the upcoming international airport in Jewar, in Gautam Buddh Nagar district.

The integrated cargo campus is expected to help Jewar emerge as a major air freight and logistics hub for north India, providing export-import activities across sectors such as agricultural products, electronics, pharmaceuticals among others.

In addition to this, AISATS will also establish a modern air catering unit at the airport. According to officials, the catering unit will supply in-flight meals not only for flights operating from Jewar but also for multiple airports across northern India.

Both projects are expected to generate significant direct and indirect job opportunities along with strengthening regional food processing and supply chain ecosystem.

The Uttar Pradesh government’s investment promotion agency ‘Invest UP’ also signed an MoU with Singapore Cooperation Enterprise to establish a long-term strategic partnership.

Under the agreement, both sides will collaborate on study visits, leadership delegations, training and capacity-building programmes, along with joint development and implementation of technical cooperation projects and engagement with relevant public and private stakeholders.
