Jessica Alba joins Netflix’s ’13 Going on 30′ reboot alongside Emily Bader, Logan Lerman

Jessica Alba has joined the cast of Netflix’s reboot of the 2004 romantic comedy , alongside Emily Bader, Logan Lerman and Adeline Rudolph, according to .

Alba’s role and the film’s plot are being kept under wraps. Jennifer Garner, who starred in the original film, is serving as an executive producer on the reboot, which began production in Los Angeles last month.

Released by Columbia Pictures in 2004, follows a 13-year-old girl who magically wakes up in the body of her 30-year-old self and must navigate adulthood while rediscovering who she really is.

Garner played the adult version of the lead character opposite Mark Ruffalo in the Gary Winick-directed film.

The original film grossed about $USD 96 million worldwide and went on to become a home entertainment success, earning a lasting place in popular culture.

Garner also recently executive produced a stage musical adaptation of the film, directed by Andy Fickman, which premiered at the Manchester Opera House last fall.

The reboot is being directed by Brett Haley, who recently helmed Netflix’s, from a script by Hannah Marks, with revisions by Flora Greeson. Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum are producing for RK Films.

Garner is executive producing alongside Donna Roth, Susan Arnold, Scott Hemming for Revolution Studios, Alyssa Altman for RK Films, Marks, Gina Matthews and Ted Gidlow.
