Actor Danny Trejo has shut down death rumors with a post on X, writing, “Thank you all for your concern but I am very much alive.
Someone is spreading fake news.” The statement comes after false reports circulated online claiming the actor had passed away following a stroke.
How did the hoax begin?
Over the weekend, a memorial-style Instagram post began making the rounds, falsely claiming Trejo had died. The post quickly gained traction across other social media platforms.
The situation escalated when actor John Leguizamo reposted the false claim, unintentionally lending credibility to the hoax.
Soon after, tributes began pouring in from fans across X, Instagram, and Facebook, with many believing the news to be true.
Reactions
Once Trejo set the record straight, relieved fans flooded his comments with messages of support and love.
One fan wrote, “Thank God. I love you Danny.”
Another added, “Is someone trying to kill you off again? I hate when they do that to people; it worries family and friends. I will say this, Danny, you are NOT allowed to kick the bucket, brother. Just don’t do it. I have had too many losses this year.”
A third fan commented, “I’m glad you’re ok and continue to keep thriving.”
Another wrote, “So VERY glad to hear you’re okay. I’ve loved your work for years, once I got over how much you scared me.”
Tribute to Val Kilmer
Trejo recently opened up about the passing of his friend and Heat co-star Val Kilmer.
“Val was one of the A-List actors in Hollywood, its top of the line,” he told TMZ. “The minute you walked on set, whether you were an A-List player or not, he immediately made you feel like, ‘Hey what’s up!’ He didn’t care whether you came out of Strasberg or [not]…You were there, you’re an actor, that means you’re part of the crew.”
