The Central Government has approved the doubling of Gondia-Jabalpur railway line at a cost of Rs 5236 crore. This 231 km long project will be completed in 5 years. This will strengthen the connectivity of Balaghat, Jabalpur, Mandla and Seoni, increase employment and give impetus to tourism.

Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the approval of the doubling of Gondia-Jabalpur railway line by the Union Cabinet is a big gift for the entire Madhya Pradesh including the Mahakaushal area. With this decision, the rail connectivity of Jabalpur, Mandla and Seoni with Balaghat district, which has become free from Naxal problem, will be further strengthened. Better rail facilities will also boost trade, industry and tourism. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav and the Union Cabinet for this important decision.

Big decision of Union Cabinet: Approval of Rs 5236 crore

The Central Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved Rs 5236 crore for the doubling of Gondia-Jabalpur railway line. This approval was given in the first meeting of the Union Cabinet held at Sevatirtha. Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav has described this project as an important rail corridor connecting the Ramayana Circuit from North to South. Balaghat district is expected to get the most developmental benefits from this project. After completion of the project, economic activities will gain momentum in Madhya Pradesh and new employment opportunities will also be created.

231 km long project: work to be completed in 5 years

The work of doubling the approximately 231 km long railway line from Gondia to Jabalpur will be completed in five years. This project will directly benefit Gondia district of Maharashtra and Jabalpur, Mandla, Seoni and Balaghat districts of Madhya Pradesh. Doubling the railway line will ease the movement of trains, reduce travel time and increase the capacity to transport goods. This will accelerate business and industrial activities in the area.

Big bridge will be built on Narmada river, attention will also be given to the safety of wildlife

Under this project a big bridge will be built on the Narmada river. Apart from this, many major and minor bridges will also be constructed, so that the railway route becomes safe and smooth. Keeping in mind the safety of wildlife, about Rs 450 crore will be spent on underpasses and fencing. This will ensure the safety of wild animals living around the railway line.

Regional development and tourism will get a boost

Doubling of the railway line will also boost tourism activities in Mahakaushal area. Better connectivity will make access to religious and natural tourist places easier. Besides, local traders and farmers will get facility in taking their products to big markets. In this way, doubling of Gondia-Jabalpur railway line will not only improve traffic facilities but will also play an important role in the overall development of Madhya Pradesh.
