According to experts, when we eat food sitting on the floor, during this time we are sitting in the position of Sukhasana. This asana of sitting cross-legged activates the digestive fire of the body. This helps in digestion of food.

He further said that when we eat food while sitting on the ground, we are in direct contact with the earth element. In this way it makes an important contribution in providing stability to the body. In fact, coming in direct contact in this way brings stability to the mind and digestion of food is proper with a stable mind.

Softness of food- Not only this, touching the floor increases phlegm in the body. This kapha diet increases moisture which makes the food soft and makes it easier to break down. When this happens, food is easily digested. Eating while sitting in the right posture keeps the body’s condition balanced, which reduces the chances of waist related diseases in the future.
