To make the color and texture look similar, chalk or white powder is added to it. To reduce the quantity of real milk, synthetic milk powder is even adulterated.

How to identify fake khoya

Iodine test- To identify starch, take a piece of khoya and put 2 to 3 drops of iodine on it. It is said that if its color turns blue or black then understand that starch has been mixed in it.

Heating Test- You can also check whether khoya has been adulterated by heating it or not. For this, put khoya in a pan and see. If it foams or smells bad, it may be adulterated.

Try rubbing it with your hand- If you have bought fake khoya from the market, it will feel sticky or very smooth when crushed in your hands. Whereas real khoya is soft and granular.

Dissolving test in water- If khoya is pure then it does not dissolve completely in water. Whereas fake ghoya dissolves completely.

Major disadvantages of fake khoya

If you eat fake khoya for a long time then toxins start accumulating in the body. In such a situation, the risk of digestion becomes weak, low immunity and chronic disease increases.
