Madhya Pradesh government has decided to continue 5 major schemes worth Rs 10500 crore under Farmer Welfare Year till 31 March 2031. Along with the purchase of urad at MSP, a bonus of Rs 600 per quintal and mustard has been announced to be included in the Bhavantar scheme.
Bhopal. CM Mohan Yadav gave detailed information about the government’s clear intention regarding Farmer Welfare Year and the actions taken so far in the House on Tuesday during the ongoing Assembly session. He told that today itself a meeting of the Council of Ministers of Madhya Pradesh Government was organized, which was completely dedicated to the farmers of the state. The Chief Minister said that farmers are the backbone of our economy and the state government is fully committed to their development.
5 farmer friendly schemes worth Rs 10500 crore approved till 31 March 2031
The Council of Ministers has approved the continuation of five major farmer-friendly schemes costing approximately Rs 10,500 crore for the next five years, i.e. till 31 March 2031. The Chief Minister said that the objective of these schemes is to strengthen the farmers and agriculture related sectors, which will also give impetus to the rural economy of the state. Farmers will get direct benefits from these schemes and agricultural production, irrigation, natural farming and oilseed production will get a boost.
Special decision on urad and mustard: purchase at MSP and bonus of Rs 600
The Chief Minister said that the Madhya Pradesh government has taken an important decision to promote the production of pulses crop urad and oilseeds crop mustard.
- Urad will be procured at the fixed support price (MSP).
- In addition to MSP, farmers will also be given a bonus of Rs 600 per quintal.
He said that the production of mustard in the state has increased by about 28 percent this year and there is a possibility of production of about 3.38 metric tons. Mustard crop is also being included in the scope of Bhavantar Yojana, so that farmers can get better prices.
Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Kisan Krishi Vikas Yojana: Rs 2008.683 crore
Under this scheme, Rs 2008.683 crore has been approved. This will provide necessary resources for the development of agriculture and allied sectors. Modern technology and facilities will be made available to the farmers through the state government.
Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (Per Drop More Crop): Rs 2393.97 crore
Rs 2393.97 crore has been approved for this scheme. Under this, farmers will continue to get government grant for installing sprinkler and drip irrigation systems till March 31, 2031. This will expand micro irrigation facilities and increase production along with water conservation.
National Food Security and Nutrition Mission: Rs 3285.49 crore
Through this scheme of Rs 3285.49 crore, farmers growing paddy, wheat, pulses, coarse grains and cash crops will continue to get support. The objective of this scheme is to expand the area, increase production and improve soil fertility.
National Mission on Natural Farming: Rs 1011.59 crore
Rs 1011.59 crore has been sanctioned for this scheme. This will promote natural farming in the state. The Chief Minister said that natural farming is beneficial for the health of the citizens and it will improve the quality of soil, increase production and provide chemical-free food.
National Edible Oil Mission- Oil Seed Scheme: Rs 1793.87 crore
This scheme of Rs 1793.87 crore will benefit farmers producing oilseed crops. This will increase oil production in the state and improve the income of farmers.
Steps towards strengthening rural economy and chemical free farming
The Chief Minister said that continuing these five schemes worth Rs 10,500 crore for the next five years will bring major improvement in the rural economy of the state. Besides, these schemes will also play an important role in getting rid of chemical farming and promoting natural farming. He reiterated that under the Farmers Welfare Year, the government is fully committed to provide maximum benefits to the farmers.
