Raipur. Since its formation, Chhattisgarh Assembly has created a distinct identity across the country due to its democratic values, parliamentary traditions and disciplined working style. In this series, Governor Shri Ramen Deka inaugurated the newly constructed auditorium in the assembly complex. In the excellence investiture ceremony organized on this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said that this new auditorium is an important step towards strengthening the institutional capacity of the Assembly and making the democratic system more effective. The Chief Minister reminded that on November 1, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the new Assembly building and now the opening of a modern auditorium in the same complex is another major achievement in the democratic development of the state.
Excellence investiture ceremony organized in Chhattisgarh Assembly
A dignified ceremony was organized in the Assembly premises with the aim of honoring the democratic traditions, parliamentary values and excellent public representation. During this, Governor Shri Ramen Deka inaugurated the newly constructed auditorium and described the role of the Legislative Assembly as important in strengthening democracy.
Excellent MLA and parliamentary journalists received honours.
In the ceremony, Bilha MLA Dharamlal Kaushik and Akaltara MLA Raghavendra Kumar Singh were honored with the Excellent MLA Award for their excellent parliamentary work. Dainik Patrika correspondent Santram Sahu was awarded the Excellent Parliamentary Journalist decoration for his remarkable contribution to parliamentary journalism. In the electronic media category, Saurabh Singh Parihar and Dr. Rajesh Raj of IBC-24 were awarded the Excellent Electronic Media Reporter Award.
Governor Ramen Deka said – Assembly is the temple of democracy
Governor Shri Ramen Deka said in his address that the Assembly is the place where public representatives work for the welfare of the public. This is the reason why the Parliamentary House is called the temple of democracy. He said that the dignity of this temple depends on the conduct, behavior and thoughts of the public representatives. He said that Chhattisgarh Assembly is counted among the best assemblies of the country. The tradition of respect, coordination and healthy dialogue between the party and the opposition makes it different from other assemblies. Congratulating the respected public representatives and journalists, the Governor called upon them to work together for the development of the state. Also appealed to senior citizens to give priority to works related to dialogue, cleanliness campaign and social change.
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai told the unique tradition of Chhattisgarh Assembly
Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said that Chhattisgarh Assembly is the first and only assembly in the country, where as soon as an MLA enters the sanctum sanctorum, he is automatically considered suspended. He said that this system is not limited to just following the rules, but also reflects the Assembly’s commitment towards self-discipline, parliamentary decorum and democratic values. These special traditions give Chhattisgarh Assembly a distinct identity at the national level.
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai spoke on the role of journalism in democracy
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said that journalism is the fourth pillar of democracy. Parliamentary journalists perform the important work of conveying the proceedings of the Assembly, issues of public interest and democratic discussion to the public in an unbiased and factual manner. Congratulating the respected journalists, he said that responsible and impartial journalism makes democracy stronger.
Appreciation of parliamentary contribution of Dharamlal Kaushik and Raghavendra Singh
The Chief Minister said that the public life of Dharamlal Kaushik has been rich with long experiences. He has strengthened parliamentary traditions by successfully discharging many important responsibilities including that of Speaker of the Assembly. He also said that first-time MLA Raghavendra Kumar Singh has distinguished himself through studious, fact-based and impressive presentations in the House. The honor of both the MLAs is a tribute to democratic values and excellent parliamentary work.
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh told the importance of the new achievement
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that after the new assembly building, the inauguration of the modern auditorium is another important milestone in the development of the assembly. He said that the sixth Assembly of Chhattisgarh will always be remembered for the preservation and promotion of excellent parliamentary traditions during its tenure. He said that despite political differences, positive dialogue between the parties and the opposition on issues of interest to the state is the biggest identity of a healthy democracy. Dr. Raman Singh said that the Excellence Award is not only a personal honor but also an effective medium to encourage the best traditions of parliamentary democracy.
Anup Jalota’s bhajans enthralled everyone
In the cultural session of the program, the country’s famous bhajan singer Anoop Jalota made the function devotional by presenting his popular bhajans. Her melodious singing created a spiritual atmosphere in the entire auditorium and the people present thoroughly enjoyed her performance.
