The first direct flight from Indore to Abu Dhabi started. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav flagged off and also announced government subsidy on tickets.

Bhopal/Indore. July 15 became a special day for the travelers traveling abroad from Indore. The first direct international flight from Indore, the financial capital of Madhya Pradesh, to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has started. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reached Indore Airport and flagged off this new flight. This service has been started under Madhya Pradesh Civil Aviation Policy-2025. During the inauguration, the Chief Minister also handed over symbolic boarding passes to the passengers.

New international flight received under Madhya Pradesh Civil Aviation Policy-2025

Addressing the program, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that getting international flights to Indore, the city of mother Ahilyabai Holkar, will give a new impetus to the development of the state. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, every state of the country is progressing rapidly industrially and economically and better air connectivity has an important role in this development. The Chief Minister said that this new service of Air India Express has been started under the Madhya Pradesh Civil Aviation Policy-2025. This is not just a new flight, but a big step towards connecting the state at the global level.

Indore will become stronger, new flight towards becoming a metropolitan city

The Chief Minister said that Indore is the economic capital of the state and its identity as a metropolitan city will be further strengthened in the coming times. He said that many flights started within the state under the aviation policy of the state government are operating successfully. He informed that flights like Rewa-Delhi, Rewa-Indore and Rewa-Raipur are getting good response from passengers. In the coming time, there are preparations to start new air services like Jabalpur-Kolkata, Bhopal-Rewa, Bhopal-Patna and Rewa-Kolkata.

Religious tourism will also get a boost, heli service is expanding

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the state government is also giving priority to religious tourism. For this purpose, helicopter service has been started between Indore-Ujjain-Omkareshwar-Indore, which is providing travel facilities to the devotees. He said that air connectivity to tourism and religious places will be further strengthened in future.

Government will give subsidy, passengers will get cheaper tickets

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream is that air travel should be within the reach of the common citizen. Taking this thinking forward, the Madhya Pradesh government is ready to give a subsidy of up to Rs 15 lakh on every flight under the aviation policy. He told that earlier to go from Indore to Abu Dhabi, passengers had to go via Delhi or Mumbai, due to which the journey took 7 to 8 hours. Now Abu Dhabi can be reached in just 3 to 4 hours through direct flight. The Chief Minister said that earlier the fare for this flight used to be around Rs 25 thousand, but now tickets will be available to the passengers for Rs 12 to 14 thousand. The difference in ticket price will be borne by the state government through subsidy.

Rapidly growing airport and air network in Madhya Pradesh

The Chief Minister said that after the formation of the government, three new airports have been started in the state, while construction of two new airports is going on in Ujjain and Shivpuri. After their completion, a total of 10 airports will be available in Madhya Pradesh. He said the government aims to develop a commercial airport or air strip every 75 kilometers and a helipad every 45 kilometers. Helipads are being prepared in all the 230 assembly constituencies of the state, which will strengthen both emergency and normal services.

Government’s special focus on regional connectivity and air ambulance service

The Chief Minister said that under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS), areas like Shahdol, Neemuch, Chhindwara and Mandla will also be connected by air services. He also said that the PMShri Air Ambulance service launched for critical patients is the first initiative of its kind in the country. Other states have also started adopting this scheme.

Direct connectivity with Abu Dhabi will increase trade and economic activities

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh also has historical and cultural relations with Abu Dhabi. He said that expansion of international flights will give new impetus to trade, investment, tourism and economic activities. Congratulating all the passengers traveling on the first flight, he said that this service will further strengthen the global identity of the state.
