There is an important information for the youth preparing for government jobs. Indian Railways has announced the recruitment of 6777 posts for Apprentice. This recruitment is being done by Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR).
This opportunity is special for those candidates who want to gain experience in some work field after completing their studies. Railways will recruit apprentices for various departments like Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, Personnel, Accounts, and Medical. Along with this, candidates will also be given a good salary every month along with 1 year free training.
The Personnel Department of Northeast Frontier Railway will start the application process from July 20. Candidates can apply till 19 August 2026.
Who can apply?
Educational Qualification:
It is mandatory for the candidate to obtain at least 50 percent marks in Matriculation (10th) or equivalent examination from a recognized board. There is no restriction of marks for SC/ST/PWD category. For Medical Laboratory Technician, it is necessary to pass 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
ITI: Must have National Trade Certificate (ITI) or Provisional Certificate in the relevant trade.
Age Limit: The age of the candidates applying should be between 15 to 24 years. SC/ST is given relaxation of 5 years, OBC is given 3 years and PWD is given 10 years.
Required Documents: 10th mark sheet, Provisional/National Trade Certificate, ITI final mark sheet, 10th and 12th mark sheet and pass certificate.

Shortlisting:
Candidates will be shortlisted first on the basis of academic merit. This process will be as per unit department trade. Those candidates who are not shortlisted will be out of recruitment.
Basis of shortlisting:
Marks obtained in 10th and ITI trade will be considered for shortlisting of eligible candidates. If two candidates have equal marks, selection will be done on the basis of age. For Laboratory Technician, merit will be made on the marks of 10th and 12th science subjects.
Final Merit List:
Final merit list will be released as per unit wise, trade wise and community wise vacancies. 1.5 times more candidates will be selected for document verification. Only after document verification will there be medical examination and finally the candidates will be selected.
