The incident took place in Simaria police station area, near Karamatand village of Chatra district. According to the information, the plane was heading towards Delhi after taking off from Ranchi Airport, but Air Traffic Control (ATC) lost contact with the plane. Ranchi Airport Director confirmed that the air ambulance had crashed near Chatra a while back. Relief and rescue operations have been started immediately, local administration and disaster management teams have reached the spot. The number of injured or dead has not yet been confirmed.
