When is the right time to prune guava?
Normally, pruning of guava should be done twice. Prune guava for the first time in late winter. By doing light pruning before the new season starts, new shoots form quickly in the tree. Second, at the time of seasonal change i.e. before flowering. When flowers are about to appear in spring, do a little pruning so that the flowers and fruits are strong.
What is the correct trick of guava pruning?
To cut guava branches, take a small heavy clipper (hand pruner) or small garden scissors. First cut off dead, dry branches. Then remove branches that collide with each other. Shorten the top branches slightly every 15–20 cm. Not only this, remove the lower and leaning branches towards the ground. When you remove dead or weak branches, the plant can focus its energy on flower and fruit production.

Expert Guava Pruning Trick
Keep in mind that when you are pruning guava, cut it leaving 1 beat i.e. 5 inch branch from where the small branch i.e. new branch is starting. When new branches come from this, they will come with fruits and the entire plant will be filled with fruits. Also, the best season for pruning is February. If you give light organic fertilizer, cow dung or compost to the tree after pruning, both the recovery and fruit production of the plant will be better.
