New Delhi: In a disturbing incident, a Class 10 student was stabbed multiple times by two minors inside a snooker club in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal earlier this month. The incident came to light on Monday after the accused shared the CCTV footage of the incident allegedly to “spread fear”. It has since gone viral on social media drawing public anger over the brazenness of the assault.
The accused reportedly stabbed the teen 27 times in 30 seconds over an earlier dispute. The boy suffered over 10 deep cuts on one wrist, while two fingers on his other hand were also severed. He also suffered injuries to his shoulder and back. Despite, this he was able to break free and escape. The accused also ran away from the spot soon after.
Police to add serious charges after video surfaces
The cops had earlier registered a case of voluntarily causing hurt based on the victim’s complaint. After the video surfaced, additional charges are being considered.
According to reports, the attack took place on the night of February 15 at a club in the city’s Ganesh Chowk area.
According to a Hindustan Times report, the victim and the accused were involved in a fight days before the incident over some minor issues. The victim had reportedly slapped the accused — also class 10 students.
Victim accuses cops of not taking complaint seriously
“They threatened me with dire consequences. Later, they came to the snooker club and attacked me without any conversation before fleeing,” the victim was quoted by the Hindustan Times as saying.
The victim has further accused the cops of not taking his complaint seriously. He added that the accused were initially apprehended were released with notices.
“The accused themselves posted CCTV footage on social media to spread fear,” he added.
