New Delhi: In a horrific incident in Bengaluru, two men have allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted a 19-year-old college student at a private villa on Valentine’s Day.

The woman was invited to the party where the incident took place. The police have registered a case and are probing the incident. The victim, hailing from Tamil Nadu, is reportedly a first-year student of psychology and journalism at a private college in the city. She has been living in a PG accommodation in Bengaluru.

The repeated assault of the victim

According to reports, she came into contact with one of the accused about a month ago through social media, and they stayed in regular touch through chats and phone calls. The victim’s complaint states that the accused invited the woman at the villa after dinner with a friend on the night of Valentine’s Day, February 14. In the party, she was introduced to another man.

The victim has alleged that forced her to consume a pink-coloured intoxicating tablet by two men. It caused her dizziness, body heat, and partial unconsciousness. The semi-conscious victim was allegedly taken to a room, and the two men sexually assaulted her repeatedly. She tried to resist, but the accused overpowered her.

Victim threatened, but shows courage

Also, they gave her death threats if she told anyone about the crime committed to her. The woman, shaken and afraid, refrained from registering a complaint. A few days later, she sought medical treatment and told her elder brother what had happened to her. Following that, she filed a formal complaint with the police.

The police have registered an FIR based on her complaint with regard to sexual assault, repeated sexual violence, and criminal intimidation. The police are probing the incident, and will take appropriate legal action based on the findings.
