In the Chhattisgarh Assembly session 2026, Governor Ramen Deka laid out the vision of a developed Chhattisgarh 2047. The achievements and schemes of the government on farmer welfare, women empowerment, Naxal eradication, industrial investment, education, health and infrastructure were explained in detail.
Raipur. Governor Shri Ramen Deka addressed the 8th session of the 6th Assembly of Chhattisgarh. On reaching the Assembly, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and Leader of Opposition Dr. Charan Das Mahant welcomed him. The Governor congratulated all the members on the silver jubilee of the establishment of the state and completion of 25 years of the Assembly. He said that the inauguration of the new assembly building by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is a matter of pride for the state. Reiterating the goal of making Chhattisgarh developed by the year 2047, he said that this goal will definitely be achieved with collective efforts.
Vikas Chhattisgarh 2047 Vision: Focus on Antyodaya and inclusive development
The Governor said that the top priority of the government is Antyodaya i.e. welfare of the last person. All policies are being made with the thought that their benefits should reach the person standing in the last line. Describing women empowerment as an important basis of inclusive development, informed about celebrating the year 2026 as ‘Mahtari Gaurav Year’.
Kisan Kalyan Yojana: Record purchase of paddy at support price
The government purchased 141.04 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from 25 lakh 24 thousand farmers and paid Rs 33 thousand 431 crore. It was decided to give Rs 10,292 crore before Holi under ‘Krishak Unnati Yojana’. 24 lakh 72 thousand farmers are benefiting from the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi. Landless laborers are being given Rs 10,000 annually under ‘Deendayal Upadhyay Landless Agricultural Laborers Welfare Scheme’. Self-reliance in seed production, millets, pulses-oilseed incentives, top-up subsidy on palm oil and organic farming are being promoted. 21 lakh quintals of certified seeds were distributed in two years.
Irrigation and agricultural infrastructure: Capacity increased in 25 thousand hectares
In the last two years, irrigation capacity was increased in 25 thousand hectare area. Rs 1874 crore was sanctioned for 477 schemes. While settling the pending compensation cases, Rs 400 crore was paid to the farmers.
Women Empowerment: Mahtari Vandan Yojana and Mass Marriage Records
Under ‘Mahtari Vandan Yojana’, 69 lakh women are being given Rs 1000 every month. Till now Rs 15 thousand 596 crore has been deposited in 24 installments. Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana’, mass marriage of 6,412 couples took place, which was recorded in the Golden Book of World Records.
Naxal Eradication and Bastar Development: Niyad Nella Naar Scheme
In the last two years, 532 Maoists were neutralized, 2704 surrendered and 2004 arrested. 728 mobile towers were commissioned and education-health services started in Naxal affected areas. Road and bridge construction work worth Rs 1109 crore was approved in Bastar.
Forest rights and tribal upliftment: Chhattisgarh tops in the country
Till now, more than 4 lakh 83 thousand individual forest rights letters and more than 48 thousand community rights letters have been issued. Tendu leaf collection price was increased from Rs 4 thousand to Rs 5500. Initiatives like Bastar Pandum, Tribal Games and Digital Museum are being taken to preserve the tribal culture.
Education and Youth: Education Hub and Startup Policy 2025
Nava Raipur is being developed as an education hub. The recruitment process is going on for 32 thousand posts. Startup Promotion Policy 2025-26 has been implemented. Science City, Astro Park and Mobile Science Lab are being established in the state.
Health Services: Ayushman Yojana and new medical colleges
Ayushman cards have been made for 81 lakh families. Rs 4551 crore was paid in more than 31 lakh claims. 5 new medical colleges are being established and 250 MBBS seats have been increased.
Industrial development and investment: Proposals worth Rs 7.83 lakh crore
Under the new industrial policy, investment proposals worth Rs 7 lakh 83 thousand crore have come. Investment is increasing in semiconductor, IT, AI and pharma sectors. Railway projects worth Rs 51 thousand crore are going on. Two new expressways are being built.
Energy and infrastructure: solar scheme and free electricity
30 units of free electricity is being given to 15 lakh BPL families. The state government is giving an additional grant of Rs 30 thousand under ‘Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme’.
Tourism, Culture and Vision 2047
Dhudmaras of Bastar has been chosen as the best tourist village by the UN Tourism Organization. Under the Anjor Vision Document, the target of a developed state has been set by 2047. The Governor said that the government is making policies after taking feedback from the public and with collective efforts Chhattisgarh will be made a developed state.
