IND vs SA T20 World Cup 2026: Team India had a very bad start in the Super-8 round of T20 World Cup 2026. In the match played against South Africa, the Indian team had to face defeat by 76 runs, which is one of India’s biggest defeats till date. Team India’s batting was very poor in this match, due to which it was all out after scoring 111 runs in reply to 188 runs. After this poor performance, captain Suryakumar Yadav made a big statement in the post match presentation and also told the reason for the defeat.

Suryakumar Yadav’s big statement after defeat

Suryakumar said in the post match presentation that the team was always in competition in the beginning of the match. The bowling started brilliantly, when South Africa lost 3 wickets for 21 runs. However, after that, between 7 and 15 overs, South African batsmen batted tremendously and the team made a comeback. Later the Indian bowlers made a comeback again. Overall the bowling was good, but there was scope for improvement in the batting.

Suryakumar Yadav considered batting to be the biggest reason for the defeat in this match. He said, ‘Sometimes you have to think, if you are chasing 180-185, you may not win the game in the powerplay, but you can lose the game in the powerplay. We lost a lot of wickets in the powerplay and then we could not make the small partnerships that we wanted to chase the target of 180-185, but that is part of the game. We learn from this, we will sit back and then come back stronger.

bad batsman of team india

Let us tell you, Team India’s opening pair once again flopped. Ishan Kishan was out without opening the account in the very first over, which was a big blow for Team India in this run chase. After this, Tilak Verma also returned to the pavilion in the second over. This time Abhishek Sharma was successful in opening the account, but could not go beyond 15 runs, that is, the Indian team lost 3 wickets in the powerplay itself, which became the biggest reason for this defeat. During this innings, only Shivam Dubey, who scored 42 runs, could cross the 20-run mark. Apart from him, no batsman could stay on the crease for long, due to which the Indian team was all out in 18.5 overs.
