Sports Minister talked to YIDA

According to official sources, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya recently visited this Formula-1 circuit and talked with the officials of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YIDA). Adani said at the 70th Foundation Day celebration of ‘All India Management Association’ (AIMA) that I am very excited that Buddha Circuit is part of the (to-be) deal. I am personally striving for the return of Formula 1 in India. It has huge potential in India and people here like it a lot.

Adani joins the race to acquire JAL

Adani Group is currently involved in the race to acquire debt-ridden company Jaiprakash Associates Limited (JAL). JAL has control over Buddha International Circuit. In November 2025, Adani Group had won the support of majority of lenders with a proposal of Rs 14,535 crore to acquire JAL. Karan Adani, also managing director of Adani Ports and SEZ, said that he has been associated with this sport since the year 2000 and he believes that India can set the standard for a global event like Formula-1.

When was the last F1 race?

He said that there has been a significant improvement in the reputation of India and Indians. India can organize a great event of Formula 1. Adani also said that India has less experience with such games, and people have to go to places like Abu Dhabi or Singapore to experience them. Adani said that such sports events will provide an opportunity to showcase the country’s infrastructure, hospitality and cultural heritage. It is noteworthy that the Formula One Indian Grand Prix race was organized on the Buddha Circuit in the years 2011, 2012 and 2013. But its organization was stopped after a tax dispute with the Uttar Pradesh government.
