New Delhi: In a fatal collision, a private bus collided with a state roadways bus on the Ujjaini Road, Badayun district, Uttar Pradesh, in the early hours of Sunday, February 22. Three people lost their lives, and over 40 people were injured in the accident at around 5:30 am.
The private bus was carrying the wedding guests. According to the sources, the bus was trying to overtake a vehicle when it collided with an oncoming bus head-on. The bus was returning from the Shahajanpur district.
Locals rushed to the spot after the collision, which created panic among them, and then one of the locals called the rescue teams. They also joined the rescue operation with the police.
The rescue teams immediately acted swiftly upon receiving the information about the accident, as local police and the ambulance services rushed to the scene. The deceased bodies were sent for post-mortem, and the injured were taken to the Badayun Medical College for treatment.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath ensures best possible treatment
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep sorrow over the accident and ordered the officials to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured people. Yogi also ordered a thorough investigation of the accident.
Senior police officer Hridesh Katheria said that the police are investigating all perspectives of the accident, and both drivers are currently under observation. The officials will question them after they recover, and legal action will be taken against them if needed.
